This funding is given to schools to raise the attainment of children and enables us to provide many additional support mechanisms such as a learning mentor, intervention and booster classes along with financial support for educational visits and activities. Am I Eligible for Free School Meals? If as parents/guardians/carers you receive one of the following, you may be able to claim for Free School Meals: Income Support, Income-based Jobseekers Allowance Income-related Employment and Support Allowance Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190) Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit Universal Credit What if my child already receives a Universal Infant Free School Meal? Even if your child already receives a free school meal because they are in Reception, Year One or Year Two, if you are eligible we would ask you to contact the Confidential Free School Meals Helpline below as your child can also access the additional financial support outlined above.
