Chandlers Ridge Academy

Year 6

Our aim in Y6 is to work hard, enjoy our learning and have our children ready for the next stage in their education. There are many opportunities for children to show they are becoming responsible and trustworthy young people. Many of our children apply for monitors’ jobs in school, helping staff by providing music for assemblies, organising sports equipment, maintaining the library and many other roles. Our London residential in the summer term is a two-night stay in our capital city that includes a visit to the theatre and some of the best museums and art galleries in the world. This comes after our SATs tests, which we are a chance for our children to show how hard they and their teachers have worked while at Chandlers Ridge. Our PE and outdoor education is very important to us. Our children receive professional coaching in games, gymnastics, dance and outdoor and adventurous activities.

Mr Pentney, Miss Anderson and Mrs Young all work closely together to provide a memorable final year at Chandlers Ridge. Please follow us on Twitter: @Y6CRA. We are happy to speak to parents at the end of the school day. Just come into school to speak to us. Alternatively, we can be contacted by phone or email.

Its impact can be transformational – improving not only the childrens’ fitness, but also their concentration levels, mood, behaviour and general wellbeing.

We’ve now settled on timetabled days for each year group to have a go at the Daily Mile. We will begin at 8.45am – 8.55am and parents and carers are welcome to join in with their child.
