We are committed to The Daily Mile – the aim of which is to improve the physical, emotional and social health and wellbeing of our children – regardless of age or personal circumstances. Its impact can be transformational – improving not only the childrens’ fitness, but also their concentration levels, mood, behaviour and general wellbeing. To take part you don’t need to be an elite athlete – you don’t even need a PE kit* – just turn up in your school uniform, walk, jog or run – whatever pace suits you – enjoy the fresh air and exercise!
*children may bring a change of shoes with them if they prefer not to run on the track in their school shoes. Remember to ensure that all shoes are labelled with your child’s name to reduce lost property!
Here are the timetabled days for each year group to have a go at the Daily Mile; we will begin at 8.45am – parents and carers are welcome to join in with their child as follows:
|Monday||Year 3 & Reception|
|Friday||Year 1 & 2|
Note: Parents and Carers of EYFS & KS1 children must stay and supervise if they are not taking part.
We’re registered on as participants on the Daily Mile website – find out more about the amazing benefits of this challenge – http://thedailymile.co.uk/ – it brings a whole new meaning to the school run!
Year 5 & 6 homework club – by invitation only.
The Y6 children have been invited to a ‘Crucial Crew’ event at Teesside University. They will be provided with workshops which are intended to support them with transition to secondary school. The children will be working with: Road Safety Team, Community Police and Cleveland Fire Brigade to name but a few.
The event will be held on Monday 25th June 2018. We will be leaving school at 9.00am and will return for the end of the school day. Children should attend in school uniform please. They will also need a packed lunch. Consent must be given through your child’s Parentmail account.
