We are committed to The Daily Mile – the aim of which is to improve the physical, emotional and social health and wellbeing of our children – regardless of age or personal circumstances. Its impact can be transformational – improving not only the childrens’ fitness, but also their concentration levels, mood, behaviour and general wellbeing. To take part you don’t need to be an elite athlete – you don’t even need a PE kit* – just turn up in your school uniform, walk, jog or run – whatever pace suits you – enjoy the fresh air and exercise!
*children may bring a change of shoes with them if they prefer not to run on the track in their school shoes. Remember to ensure that all shoes are labelled with your child’s name to reduce lost property!
Thanks to funding from the Big Lottery Fund Awards for All programme, we have our very own all weather track especially for the Daily Mile.
Here are the timetabled days for each year group to have a go at the Daily Mile; we will begin at 8.45am – parents and carers are welcome to join in with their child as follows:
Day | Year group |
Monday | Year 3 & Reception |
Tuesday | Year 4 |
Wednesday | Year 5 |
Thursday | Year 6 |
Friday | Year 1 & 2 |
Note: Parents and Carers of EYFS & KS1 children must stay and supervise if they are not taking part.
We’re registered on as participants on the Daily Mile website – find out more about the amazing benefits of this challenge – http://thedailymile.co.uk/ – it brings a whole new meaning to the school run!
