Differing homework activities are suited to different ages. We would like parents’ assistance in joining in with some of the work and in ensuring that homework is done. More information about each year group’s homework is available on the Year Group pages.
Homework is set in accordance with guidelines issued by the Department for Education (DfE). It can be an enjoyable and worthwhile experience that fosters partnership between parents and teachers. It is important that homework is flexible enough to fit in with schoolwork, and does not overburden the child or cause anxiety.
Throughout the school we encourage reading with an adult at home, ideally 3 to 4 times a week. This needs to be recorded in their reading diary. When children have read 3 times in the week, they will receive a sticker and this each half term builds into a small prize.
Chandlers Ridge provides a homework club after school for children in year 5 and 6. You can find out about homework club here.
