Every parent and carer is welcome to be part of the Friends of Chandlers Ridge, and its success is a result of the active support of our families, friends and local community. We encourage everyone to give just an hour of their time to be part of one of their events, perhaps managing a stall at the Summer Fair, baking a cake for sales or selling tuck at a Disco.
Almost £40,000 has been raised for school over the past six years, and their contribution to the community life of our school is crucial. For example, Friends volunteers arrange social events for the children such as termly discos and parties, subsidise the annual school talent show, help the Y6s end their time at Chandlers Ridge in style with the Summer Fayre and apply for grants and company-matched funding. Over the past few years Friends have refurbished and equipped our new classrooms and provided our ICT suite with 32 new PCs.
Friends are conscious of the need to spread investment, events and subsidies across all years groups, and spend money carefully – if nothing is needed, nothing is purchased. All our children benefit from the Friends endeavours right from day one.
Please read through the pages on our website to find out more about the work of Friends and our network of class reps in school.
We’d love to hear from you!
